Treatment of Intraarticular Malunions:  Diego Fernandez

 

Therapist will choose from one of the (3) hour labs.  (Clinical Examination of the Wrist will be repeated on 5/6/07).

9:00 AM

Clinical Examination of the Wrist  (3 hr lab-small groups):  Ken Flowers, PT, CHT

Clinical examination of the wrist followed by a systematic approach to wrist evaluation including palpation and provocative testing.

Refreshment break 10:30

Outcomes Measures for Hand & Upper Extremity (2 hr lab): Joy MacDermid, PhD, PT

Evidence based outcome studies as they relate to clinical practice.

Understanding Common Upper Extremity X-rays: David L. Nelson, MD

Lunch:  including cases studies  with Randi Bindra, MD

Dynamic Splinting of the Wrist and Hand (4 hr lab):

Nancy Chee, OTR, CHT &  Lucy Jacob OTR, CHT & Shelli Lucas Dellinger, OTR/CHT

Splint fabrication of (3) advanced splints including a Muenster splint, dynamic wrist, and finger flexion and/or extension splint.  Advanced splinting techniques will be reviewed and taping alternatives for wrist injuries will be demonstrated.
